Job Description

Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a talented engineering team, cultivating fluency with AI-assisted development so the team treats AI harnesses as a core part of how they build, not an afterthought.
• Foster a positive, collaborative environment that encourages innovation, responsible AI adoption, and professional growth.
• Manage day-to-day activities, set performance goals, and ensure the team meets project deadlines — including throughput expectations that reflect AI-augmented workflows.

2. Project Management

• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of software projects within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Work closely with project managers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment with business objectives.

3. Technical Expertise

• Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies — particularly the fast-moving AI developer tooling landscape (coding agents, MCP-based toolchains, agentic workflows) — and guide the team on best practices.
• Collaborate to solve complex technical challenges and make informed decisions on technology stack, architecture, and where AI meaningfully accelerates delivery.

4. Quality Assurance

• Ensure robust testing processes that keep quality high even as AI accelerates code generation — with the human review bar rising, not falling.
• Implement and enforce coding standards, code reviews, and practices that hold AI-generated and human-written code to the same standard.

5. Collaboration and Communication

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, UX/UI, QA) to ensure seamless integration of components.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and leadership, providing regular updates on status, challenges, and successes.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience (10+ years) in software development, with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in Java languages and technologies.
• Demonstrated experience leading or working within AI-native / AI-augmented engineering teams — using coding agents and AI developer tooling as part of the daily workflow.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Bonus Points for

• Experience developing eCommerce software
• Experience building Cloud Native applications
• Domain-Based Services architecture
• Java 17+ / Spring knowledge
• Experience working in a global team setting
• CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote) space experience, especially in an AI-native development environment
