Tax Consultant

Position: US Taxation – International Voice Process & Tax Preparer

Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant US Taxation / Tax Preparation experience

Location: Hyderabad

Employment: Full-time

Shift: US Shift / Night Shift during tax season

Key responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound calls with US clients.
• Communicate professionally with US taxpayers and explain tax-related requirements.
• Collect and verify W-2, 1099, 1098, K-1 and other tax documents.
• Prepare and/or assist in preparing US Individual Tax Returns – Form 1040.
• Work with federal and state tax returns.
• Understand common schedules such as Schedule A, B, C, D and E.
• Identify missing information and follow up with clients.
• Review prepared returns for accuracy before submission.
• Resolve basic tax-related client questions and escalate complex technical issues.
• Maintain client information and documentation securely.
• Meet quality, productivity and turnaround-time targets.

Candidate requirements

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on US tax preparation experience.
• Strong knowledge of US Individual Taxation / Form 1040.
• Prior experience communicating with US clients is strongly preferred.
• Excellent spoken English and neutral/clear pronunciation.
• Strong listening and customer-handling skills.
• Experience with US tax software such as Drake, ProSeries, UltraTax, CCH, ProConnect, Lacerte or similar is preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state taxation.
• Ability to work independently during the US tax season.
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field preferred.
• EA/CPA is an advantage but not mandatory for a preparer role.
