Training Associate

Training Associate – is responsible for on boarding, training, and developing entry-level operators and executive candidates in all technical, practical, and safety aspects of open-die forging. This role bridges classroom instruction with hands-on shop floor training, ensuring new hires master machinery operation, metal deformation techniques, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on experience with strong instructional abilities to cultivate a safe, efficient, and highly skilled workforce.

1. Hands-On Technical Instruction & Process Training

• Forging: Instruct candidates in core open-die forging operations.
• Equipment : Train new hires on the safe setup, operation, and daily maintenance of machinery.
• Blueprint & Inspection Tools: Guide trainees on interpreting complex engineering drawings, dimensional tolerances, and utilizing calipers, micrometers, pyrometers, and layout gages.

2. Program Delivery & Onboarding

Execute structured 30-60-90 day on-boarding plans for incoming operators, helpers, and forge shop technicians.

• Deliver a hybrid instructional model combining structured classroom modules (metallurgy basics, process flows, standard operating procedures) with extensive shop floor shadowing.
• Continually update training materials, job aids, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect equipment upgrades, technological changes, and safety guidelines.

3. Safety, Quality & Compliance

Enforce strict adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.

• Train candidates to inspect post-forge parts, recognize common forging defects, and understand heat-treatment prep.
• Ensure all training protocols comply with OSHA standards, ISO 9001/AS9100 quality frameworks, and company safety policies.

4. Competency Evaluation & Mentorship

Conduct regular performance evaluations, practical tests, and written assessments to certify candidate competency before releasing them to independent shift work.

• Provide continuous, constructive feedback and one-on-one coaching to help trainees overcome technical skill gaps.
• Maintain accurate training records, competency matrices, and certification logs for internal audits and compliance.
