Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our team to work exclusively on passenger cars and light passenger vehicles. You will be responsible for performing everything from routine scheduled maintenance to complex electronic and mechanical diagnostic repairs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with domestic and foreign car models and be highly proficient with modern computerized car diagnostic systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Car Diagnostics: Use specialized automotive scan tools to read trouble codes, pinpoint electrical faults, and diagnose engine or drivetrain performance issues in passenger cars.
• Routine Servicing: Perform standard car maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, wheel alignments, and brake pad/rotor replacements.
• System Repairs: Repair and rebuild car-specific systems including fuel injection, steering and suspension, exhaust, heating and air conditioning (HVAC), and cooling systems.
• Transmission & Drivetrain: Inspect, service, and replace car clutches, CV axles, differentials, and front/rear-wheel drive assemblies.
• Road Testing: Conduct pre- and post-repair test drives to verify the customer's complaint is resolved and the vehicle handles safely on the road.
• Digital Inspection Reporting: Complete digital multi-point inspections to document vehicle condition and recommend necessary safety or maintenance repairs to service advisors.

Skills and Qualifications

• Passenger Car Expertise: Deep understanding of modern car layouts (front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive) and standard passenger vehicle components.
• Diagnostic Proficiency: Expert-level familiarity with OBD-II systems, multi-meters, and automotive oscilloscopes.
• Precision and Safety: Strong focus on precision torque specifications and safety procedures for lifting low-clearance vehicles.
• Adaptability: Ability to easily transition between different car makes and models (Japanese, European, and Domestic).

Education and Experience Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or vocational certificate in Automotive Technology.
• Experience: 2+ years of professional experience working in a car dealership or independent automotive repair shop.
• License: A valid driver's license with a clean record is required to drive customer cars.
