Role Overview

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and technically skilled Jewellery CAD Designer to join our growing Design & Product Development team in Pune. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality 3D jewellery designs with a strong focus on gemstone-based jewellery, ensuring precision in stone settings, manufacturing feasibility, product aesthetics, and design innovation.

This role plays a critical part in developing meaningful jewellery pieces that combine authentic gemstones, Vedic traditions, premium craftsmanship, and modern design excellence while supporting Divine Lane's commitment to delivering unique and high-quality spiritual jewellery products.

Key Responsibilities

Jewellery CAD Design & Product Development

• Create detailed 3D CAD models for rings, pendants, bracelets, malas, gemstone jewellery, and customized spiritual jewellery pieces.

• Develop accurate and production-ready jewellery designs with a focus on aesthetics, wearability, and functionality.

• Design customized jewellery based on customer requirements, astrological recommendations, and Vedic principles.

• Create innovative concepts for Navratna jewellery, gemstone collections, and spiritual accessories.

• Ensure designs align with Divine Lane's product vision, quality standards, and brand identity.

• Continuously explore creative approaches to enhance product offerings.

Gemstone Setting & Technical Design

• Develop precise gemstone settings including prong, bezel, channel, pavé, tension, and custom stone-setting techniques.

• Ensure proper gemstone placement, proportions, and structural integrity within designs.

• Consider gemstone dimensions, cuts, shapes, and quality requirements during design development.

• Optimize jewellery designs for both visual appeal and manufacturing feasibility.

• Maintain accuracy in weight calculations and material usage.

• Ensure designs meet industry standards and production specifications.

Rendering, Documentation & Production Support

• Prepare technical drawings, CAD files, renderings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.

• Generate realistic product renderings for internal reviews and marketing purposes.

• Provide production teams with accurate design specifications and technical support.

• Maintain organized design libraries, product records, and documentation.

• Review prototypes and recommend design refinements before production.

• Support quality control and product approval processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with gemmologists, sourcing teams, artisans, production teams, and operations personnel.

• Coordinate with product development teams to ensure manufacturability and cost optimization.

• Work with astrologers and product experts to create spiritually meaningful jewellery collections.

• Support customer-facing teams with design-related information and customization requests.

• Participate in brainstorming sessions and new product development initiatives.

• Ensure seamless communication between design and production teams.

Market Research & Innovation

• Research jewellery trends, gemstone trends, and luxury product innovations.

• Analyze customer preferences and emerging market opportunities.

• Contribute new concepts for gemstone, Navratna, Rudraksha, and spiritual jewellery collections.

• Stay updated on industry technologies, materials, and design methodologies.

• Recommend product enhancements that improve customer appeal and market competitiveness.

• Drive innovation while preserving authenticity and Vedic significance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Jewellery CAD Designer, preferably in gemstone or stone-based jewellery.

• Strong portfolio showcasing gemstone jewellery designs and technical CAD expertise.

• Proficiency in Matrix, Rhino, JewelCAD, or equivalent jewellery CAD software.

• Strong understanding of gemstone sizes, cuts, shapes, and professional stone-setting techniques.

• Knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes, metal properties, weight calculations, and production feasibility.

• Excellent creativity, precision, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to balance creativity with technical accuracy and manufacturing requirements.

Preferred

• Experience designing Navratna gemstone jewellery, Rudraksha jewellery, or spiritual jewellery collections.

• Proficiency in KeyShot, V-Ray, or advanced rendering software.

• Understanding of Vedic astrology and gemstone significance.

• Experience in luxury jewellery or premium product design environments.

• Familiarity with jewellery prototyping and production workflows.

• Knowledge of precious metals, gemstones, and high-value jewellery products.
