Job OverviewWe are looking for a passionate Cricket Content Writer with strong knowledge of cricket who can write accurate, engaging, and real-time ball-by-ball commentary during live matches. The ideal candidate should understand cricket rules, player statistics, match situations, and terminology, and be able to convert live match action into clear and interesting written updates.

• Key ResponsibilitiesWrite live ball-by-ball commentary for international, domestic, franchise and T20 cricket matches.
• Provide real-time updates for every delivery, including runs, wickets, boundaries, extras and key match moments.
• Write engaging commentary in clear, accurate and grammatically correct English.
• Understand cricket rules, umpire decisions, bowling variations, batting techniques and match situations.
• Prepare match previews, summaries, player profiles, cricket news and post-match reports when required.
• Monitor live scores, player statistics, partnerships, run rates and other match data.
• Ensure commentary is timely, factually accurate and consistent with editorial guidelines.
• Coordinate with the content and live operations teams to maintain smooth coverage during matches.
• Work under tight deadlines, including during high-pressure and fast-paced live matches.
• Required Skills and QualificationsStrong knowledge and passion for cricket.
• Excellent written English and sentence formation.
• Ability to type quickly and accurately while following a live cricket match.
• Understanding of Test cricket, ODIs, T20s, IPL, international tournaments and domestic leagues.
• Familiarity with cricket terminology, scorecards, player statistics and match analysis.
• Good observation skills and the ability to describe every delivery accurately.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet live coverage deadlines.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with online research tools.
• Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in cricket commentary, sports journalism, content writing or live score coverage.
• Familiarity with cricket scoring platforms and ball-by-ball commentary formats.
• Knowledge of SEO and digital sports publishing is an advantage.
• Working RequirementsWillingness to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays, according to the cricket schedule.
• Flexibility to cover live matches across different time zones when required.
