Job Description
- Key Responsibilities
- Operate conventional (manual) lathe and milling machines
- Perform turning, facing, drilling, threading, boring, slotting, and milling operations
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances
- Set up workpieces, cutting tools, and machine parameters
- Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators
- Inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy and quality standards
- Sharpen and maintain cutting tools when required
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
- Follow workshop safety procedures and use PPE properly
- Assist in fabrication and machining work as assigned
- Required Skills
- Knowledge of conventional machining processes
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- Good understanding of metal cutting tools and materials
- Accurate measurement and inspection skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Basic maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge
- Qualifications
- ITI Machinist / Turner or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in manual lathe and milling operations preferred
