ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for skilled and passionate Pastry Chefs to join our Kerala team. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in European-style pastry and dessert preparation, with a strong eye for presentation and consistency. You will be responsible for crafting our signature Italian and French desserts to the highest quality standards, while contributing to menu innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•      Prepare and produce a wide range of Italian and French pastries, desserts, and baked goods as per the brand's signature menu

•      Ensure consistency in taste, texture, presentation, and quality across all pastry offerings

•      Assist in Gelato preparation and production in line with authentic Italian techniques

•      Maintain mise en place and ensure all ingredients are prepped and ready for service

•      Follow standardised recipes and portion guidelines while maintaining brand quality standards

•      Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and FSSAI regulations at all times

•      Monitor inventory levels for pastry ingredients and coordinate timely requisitions to avoid shortages

•      Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team on new menu development, seasonal specials, and recipe innovation

•      Train and guide junior kitchen staff and commis on pastry techniques and plating standards

•      Maintain and care for pastry equipment, reporting any maintenance needs promptly

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

•      Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Bakery & Confectionery, or a related field from a recognised institute

•      3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker in a reputed bakery, patisserie, hotel, or restaurant

•      Strong working knowledge of Italian and French pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert presentation

•      Experience with Gelato, artisan breads, laminated doughs, and European dessert styles is highly preferred

•      Solid understanding of ingredient functionality, flavour pairing, and pastry science

•      Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality and consistency

•      Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and FSSAI compliance

•      Strong attention to detail with a passion for quality and craftsmanship
