QA Executive & Aquaculture Field Technician

Key Responsibilities

1. Raw Material Inspection

 Assess species, size, grade, freshness, and physical condition.

 Verify receiving temperature and condition of chilled/frozen materials.

 Ensure supplier/lot identification and traceability. Reject or hold materials that fail to meet specifications.

2. Processing Monitoring

 Oversee washing, grading, deheading/peeling, freezing, and glazing. Verify product temperature at

critical stages.

 Ensure compliance with SOPs and product specifications.

3. HACCP & Food Safety

 Monitor CCPs/OPRPs and critical limits.

 Record monitoring results and act immediately on deviations.

 Verify corrective actions and follow-up measures.

4. Personal Hygiene & GMP

 Monitor worker hygiene and protective clothing.

 Ensure proper handwashing/sanitization practices.

 Enforce GMP and GHP standards in processing areas.

5. Hazard Control

 Monitor cleaning and sanitation chemicals.

 Prevent chemical and foreign-body contamination.

 Inspect equipment, utensils, and processing areas for hygiene.

6. Finished Product Inspection

 Check appearance, colour, odour, texture, size/grade, weight, glazing, packaging, and labelling.

 Verify product against customer and internal specifications.

7. Packaging & Labelling

 Confirm correct packaging materials are used.

 Verify product details: name, species, grade, net weight, production/expiry dates, lot/batch number,

storage instructions. Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.

8. Cold Chain Monitoring

 Monitor freezing, cold-room, and dispatch temperatures.

 Ensure frozen products are maintained at ≤ −18°C.

 Record and report deviations.

9. Traceability

 Maintain traceability from raw material to dispatch.

 Verify GRN, production, packing, and dispatch records.

10. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action

 Identify and segregate non-conforming products/processes.

 Raise NCRs and investigate root causes. Verify corrective/preventive actions.

11. Documentation

 Maintain QC inspection records, CCP monitoring logs, temperature checks, sanitation reports, product

inspection reports, calibration records, etc. Ensure records are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.

12. Field Aquaculture Supervision

 To travel to farm location in and around Alappuzha and collect and report aquaculture farm data

weekly/monthly as per company requirements and report it to the respective teams.

 Provide technical support and ensure compliance with Best Aquaculture practise standards for Basa

farming/ Shrimp farming/ other species. Supervise harvesting and dispatch operations.

 Maintain detailed records of farming activities and produce reports for each visit.

Skills & Attributes

 Basic computer and MS office skills.

 Analytical thinking and attention to detail.

 Strong communication skills, especially in explaining technical concepts to farmers.

 Adaptability to diverse field conditions and travel requirements.

 Ability to work independently and in teams.

 Relationship-building and trust with aquaculture farmers and train them in aquaculture techniques

during field visits.
