At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

EY – Risk Consulting – Manager, Enterprise Risk Management

As part of Risk Consulting, you will lead and support client engagements focused on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), risk governance and GRC transformation across the MENA region. You will work with clients across sectors and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design practical, sustainable and technology-enabled risk management solutions.

The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in Enterprise Risk Management to join our Risk Management team. This is an opportunity to contribute to the growth of a leading risk advisory practice while helping clients strengthen risk-informed decision-making, resilience and governance. The position will be based in Kochi or Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Working in our practice, you will advise clients across a variety of industries and operating environments, lead high-quality engagements and develop your experience in ERM frameworks, risk appetite, risk reporting, risk culture and GRC solutions.

Your key responsibilities

As part of the role, you will:

  • Lead and manage ERM, risk governance and GRC advisory engagements from planning through delivery.
  • Design, implement and enhance ERM frameworks aligned with recognised standards such as ISO 31000 and COSO ERM.
  • Facilitate enterprise-wide risk assessments, risk workshops and risk identification sessions with senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain risk taxonomies, enterprise and functional risk registers, risk appetite statements, tolerance thresholds and key risk indicators.
  • Integrate risk management into strategy, business planning, budgeting, performance management and decision-making processes.
  • Establish risk monitoring, escalation and reporting mechanisms, including executive and Board-level dashboards.
  • Assess strategic, operational, financial, technology, cyber, regulatory, third-party, sustainability and emerging risks.
  • Review risk governance structures, management and Board risk committee arrangements and alignment with the three-lines model.
  • Lead risk maturity assessments, benchmarking exercises and ERM transformation programmes, and develop pragmatic improvement roadmaps.
  • Support the evaluation, design and implementation of GRC technology solutions and risk data visualisation.
  • Advise on operational resilience, business continuity and crisis risk management frameworks, where relevant.
  • Manage engagement scope, economics, resources, risks, quality, timelines and client expectations.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior management, risk committees and other key stakeholders, translating complex risk matters into clear recommendations.
  • Coach and mentor team members and foster a culture of quality, collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Develop proposals, thought leadership and go-to-market initiatives that support the growth of the ERM practice.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong knowledge of ERM frameworks, risk governance, risk appetite, risk culture, risk reporting and the three-lines model.
  • Ability to translate complex risk information into concise executive and Board-level reporting.
  • Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven project and engagement management capability, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with confidence presenting to senior management and governance forums.
  • Strong proposal development, account management and business development capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with data analytics, Power BI or GRC platforms would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of regulatory environments and risk practices across the MENA region would be advantageous.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including experience managing ERM or risk advisory engagements.
  • Demonstrable experience in risk assessments, risk appetite, KRIs, risk reporting, governance and ERM improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing teams and engaging with senior client stakeholders.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A relevant professional certification such as CRMA, CIA, FRM, CRM, RIMS-CRMP, CISA, ACCA, CA or an equivalent risk, audit, finance or governance qualification.
  • Prior consulting or professional-services experience.
  • A master’s degree or MBA.
  • Arabic language capability, where relevant to client engagements in the MENA region.
  • Mobility and travel
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client locations, sometimes at short notice.
  • A valid passport and ability to meet applicable travel requirements.
