Job OverviewThe Internal Auditor will be responsible for conducting operational, financial, and compliance audits across manufacturing plants, supply chain networks, dealership channels, and corporate functions. The role focuses on identifying operational inefficiencies, strengthening internal control frameworks (ICFR), ensuring statutory compliance specific to the automotive sector, and mitigating supply chain and shop-floor risks.

• Key Responsibilities1. Operational & Plant AuditsConduct periodic audits of plant operations, including BOM (Bill of Materials) variance analysis, scrap and yield tracking, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Evaluate inventory management practices: cycle counts, slow-moving/non-moving (SLOB) provisions, vendor-managed inventory, and warehouse safety.
• Assess quality management systems and rework/warranty cost tracking mechanisms.
• 2. Procurement & Supply Chain ReviewsReview vendor onboarding, rate contracts, tender allocations, and compliance with the Delegation of Authority (DOA).
• Verify logistics, freight billing, inbound/outbound material verification, and reverse logistics processes.
• Audit supplier risk management processes and dual-sourcing controls for critical components (e.g., semiconductor chips, EV batteries, press shop components).
• 3. Financial Controls & Statutory ComplianceTest the design and operating effectiveness of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR / SOX compliance).
• Audit revenue recognition, dealer billing, distributor margins, and incentive/rebate schemes.
• Verify compliance with automobile-specific indirect taxation, GST/customs duty exemptions (e.g., PLI scheme benchmarks, import duty on CKD/SKD units), and local environmental/safety mandates.
• 4. Audit Execution & ReportingFormulate risk-based annual audit plans in alignment with departmental goals.
• Draft concise, fact-based audit reports detailing root causes, financial impact, and actionable recommendations.
• Track the status of audit findings and ensure timely implementation of management action plans (MAP).
• Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: Chartered Accountant (CA) / Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) / Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) / Master's degree in Finance.
• Experience: 3–6 years of relevant internal audit experience, preferably within the automobile, auto-ancillary, or discrete manufacturing sectors.
• Big 4 or large accounting firm experience handling automotive clients is highly regarded.
