Job Description
- 1. Core Creative & Artistic Skill SetSpatial Awareness & Architectural Scale: Ability to visualize, read, and translate 2D architectural blueprints, CAD floor plans, and hand sketches into accurate 3D spatial volumes.
- Lighting Design & Photorealism: Deep understanding of natural vs. artificial lighting, color temperature (K), shadows, light falloff, and exposure control to create mood and realism.
- Materiality & Texture Application: Expertise in physically based rendering (PBR) workflows—understanding bump maps, displacement, roughness, specular reflections, and how light interacts with materials like wood, glass, metals, and textiles.
- Color Theory & Composition: Knowledge of interior color palettes, camera framing, focal points, and rule-of-thirds photography principles to compose compelling render shots.
- Interior Styling & Aesthetics: Up-to-date awareness of interior design trends, furniture styles, lighting fixtures, and decor arrangements across various aesthetics (e.g., minimalist, industrial, traditional, luxury).
- 2. Software & Technical ExpertiseA. Primary 3D Modeling & Rendering Engines3ds Max + V-Ray / Corona Renderer: The industry standard for high-end, photorealistic interior visualization.
- Blender: Widely used for flexible 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering (Cycles/EEVEE).
- SketchUp: Crucial for rapid 3D massing, conceptual modeling, and quick client iteration.
- Real-Time Rendering Engines (Unreal Engine / Twinmotion / Enscape / Lumion): Required for fast walkthroughs, interactive 3D tours, and real-time client presentations.
- B. Post-Processing & Graphic ToolsAdobe Photoshop: Essential for post-rendering enhancements, color grading, adding entourage (people, plants), fixing lighting errors, and compositing raw render passes.
- Lightroom / After Effects: For batch color correction and video walkthrough editing/effects.
- C. Technical Drafting & CAD IntegrationAutoCAD / Revit: Proficiency in importing, organizing, and working with DWG/BIM files, layered CAD drawings, and elevation sheets.
- Dimensioning & Scale Accuracy: Ensuring all 3D assets (furniture, millwork, clearances) strictly adhere to real-world metric/imperial measurements and ergonomics.
- 3. Production & Workflow SkillsAsset & Poly-Count Optimization: Managing high-poly furniture models and proxy objects to keep file sizes workable and maintain fast render times.
- Material Creation & Node Editing: Building custom shaders using procedural textures, UV unwrapping (UVW Mapping), and seamlessly tileable texture maps.
- Render Settings Optimization: Fine-tuning noise thresholds, global illumination (GI), anti-aliasing, and denoisers to maximize visual quality while reducing render times.
- 4. Soft Skills & Project CollaborationClient Communication: Ability to take vague client briefs or visual mood boards and translate them into accurate 3D concepts.
- Vendor & Material Sourcing Knowledge: Familiarity with real-world furniture brands, material availability, and construction details so designs are physically buildable.
- Time Management & Deadline Adherence: Delivering multi-angle render sets, revisions, and walkthrough animations within tight project schedules.
