Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Web Application Developer with strong expertise in PHP (CodeIgniter, Laravel), Node.js, and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL). The preferred candidate should have experience building scalable web applications and real-time IoT solutions. Familiarity with MQTT, STOMP, and NoSQL databases will be an added advantage.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Web Application Developer, you will design, build, and maintain high-performance web applications. Your work will include backend APIs, database design, and real-time communication systems that support IoT-based applications. You will work closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain web applications using PHP (CodeIgniter, Laravel) and Node.js.
• Design, maintain, and optimize database schemas using PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or MySQL.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and real-time messaging protocols like MQTT, STOMP, and AMQP.
• Implement NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, or DynamoDB) to support high-performance data storage.
• Work with IoT protocols and build data ingestion pipelines for connected devices.
• Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code in line with established best practices.
• Work closely with frontend developers to deliver full-stack applications.
• Implement unit and integration testing along with automated deployment pipelines.
• Diagnose and resolve complex application and server-side issues.
• Keep up to date with evolving web technologies, frameworks, and security practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of professional experience in web application development.
• Strong expertise in PHP frameworks (CodeIgniter, Laravel).
• Practical experience with Node.js and asynchronous programming.
• Strong proficiency in relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or MySQL.
• Experience with real-time communication using MQTT, STOMP, or WebSockets.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, or Cassandra).
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols (JWT, OAuth, API Keys).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Good understanding of Linux environments, shell scripting, and server administration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

Good to Have:

• Prior experience developing IoT applications involving device management, telemetry, and real-time analytics.
• Knowledge of IoT protocols such as CoAP, LoRaWAN, Zigbee, or WebRTC.
• Experience working with Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar message brokers.
• Practical experience with GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices, Git workflows, and modern DevOps processes.
