Role Overview

The Steward ensures the café maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and support for smooth daily operations. This role is crucial in maintaining the brand image of Café De Rois by providing a neat, welcoming, and safe environment for customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cleaning & Hygiene
2. 
   

• Maintain cleanliness of café floors, tables, chairs, service counters, and kitchen areas.
• Wash utensils, cutlery, crockery, and glassware promptly.
• Follow proper sanitization and hygiene protocols as per food safety standards.
• Ensure restrooms and customer areas are cleaned and replenished regularly.

• Assist kitchen and service staff with basic tasks when required (e.g., carrying trays, organizing supplies).
• Collect and dispose of waste in designated areas, ensuring proper waste segregation.
• Refill water, napkins, condiments, and other service essentials on the floor.

• Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing supplies and deliveries.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.
• Handle café equipment carefully and report damages immediately.

• Ensure the café ambience is always neat and welcoming.
• Respond politely to customer requests (e.g., clearing tables quickly, assisting in directions).

• Follow safety and hygiene rules strictly (PPE, gloves, hairnets where needed).
• Report hazards, maintenance needs, or unsafe practices immediately.
• Adhere to all Café De Rois policies and brand standards.

Skills & Requirements

• Prior experience in hospitality / housekeeping / café operations preferred.
• Basic understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks.
• Good communication skills, polite and service-oriented.
• Team player with a positive attitude.

Performance Indicators

• Cleanliness and hygiene ratings (internal checks).
• Timely support to service and kitchen staff.
• Minimal customer complaints related to café hygiene.
• Reliability and punctuality.
