Civil Draughtsman – Job Description
Job Title: Civil Draughtsman
Department: Projects / Design
Location: Madurai
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience: 2–5 years
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Civil Draughtsman to prepare accurate technical drawings and detailed plans for residential and construction projects. The candidate should have good knowledge of AutoCAD, civil drawings, construction details, and drawing coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare 2D civil drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD.
- Prepare drawings based on architectural and engineering requirements.
- Develop working drawings and construction/detail drawings for site execution.
- Modify drawings based on project requirements and revisions.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, project managers, and site teams.
- Ensure drawings are accurate and comply with project specifications and standards.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on site measurements and completed works.
- Maintain proper documentation and records of drawings and revisions.
- Visit project sites when required to verify measurements and drawing requirements.
- Support the project team with drawing-related technical requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software and 2D drafting.
- Strong Apartment knowledge and apartment working drawing experience.
- Good understanding of civil construction drawings and building details.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Good knowledge of floor plans, elevations, sections, and working drawings.
- Knowledge of MS Office is an added advantage.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualification
- Diploma / ITI / Certificate in Civil Drafting or Civil Engineering.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
Preferred Candidate
- Experience in residential / apartment / building construction projects.
- Candidates who can independently prepare and revise construction drawings will be preferred.
