QMS Engineer

Job Description

• Timely closure of audit observations.
• Compliance with document control procedures.
• Timely completion of CAPA actions.
• Successful completion of internal and external audits.
• Achievement of quality objectives and reduction in repeat non-conformities.
• Implement, maintain, and monitor the Quality Management System in accordance with IATF 16949:2016 and applicable customer-specific requirements (CSRs).
• Knowledge and practical experience in conducting VSA process audits as per the 19 checkpoints defined in the MSIL checklist, including identification of non-conformities, preparation of corrective action plans, and verification of effective implementation.
• Prepare, review, update, and control QMS documentation, including quality manuals, procedures, SOPs, work instructions, and formats.
• Plan and conduct internal system audits, process audits, and product audits as per the approved audit programme and applicable requirements.
• Coordinate customer audits, certification audits, surveillance audits, and other external audits.
• Coordinate root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions using 5 Why, 8D, and other appropriate problem-solving techniques.
• Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure timely closure of audit findings and nonconformities.
• Ensure implementation and maintenance of automotive core tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC, as applicable.
• Ensure that Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Control Plans, inspection standards, and work instructions are aligned and updated whenever required.
• Monitor compliance with customer-specific requirements, product specifications, drawings, and applicable quality standards.
• Maintain records of calibration, measurement equipment, inspection results, and other applicable quality documentation.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, Tool Room, Purchase, and other relevant departments to resolve quality issues.
• Monitor quality performance indicators, including customer complaints, rejection PPM, scrap, rework, audit findings, and corrective action closure.
• Conduct employee awareness and training sessions on QMS requirements, quality procedures, and customer-specific requirements.
• Prepare data and reports for Management Review Meetings and track actions arising from the meetings.
• Ensure effective implementation of document control, change management, traceability, and record retention requirements, as applicable.
• Support continuous improvement activities to reduce defects, improve process capability, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

·        Education: CIPET or Diploma in Plastic Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.

·        Certification: Certified IATF 16949 Auditor

·        Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive quality management systems and external auditing.
