Role: Commercial Interior Designer – Projects
Location: Mangalore
Department: Projects / Design
Experience: 2–5 years
About the role
We are looking for a commercially oriented Interior Designer to handle the design and execution of restaurants, hotels, commercial kitchens, offices and other hospitality/commercial spaces.
The person will work closely with our sales, estimation, MEP, fabrication and project execution teams to convert customer requirements into practical, detailed and cost-effective designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand client requirements and develop interior concepts.
- Prepare 2D layouts, furniture layouts, reflected ceiling plans and detailed drawings.
- Develop 3D models and realistic renders for client presentations.
- Design restaurant, hotel, commercial kitchen and hospitality spaces.
- Coordinate interior layouts with:
- Commercial kitchen equipment
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Exhaust/ventilation
- Fire & safety requirements
- MEP services
Prepare detailed drawings suitable for execution and fabrication.
Prepare material, finish and furniture specifications.
Coordinate with estimation and procurement teams to ensure designs remain within budget.
Visit project sites and take measurements.
Coordinate with contractors, fabricators, MEP engineers and site teams.
Review site execution against approved drawings.
Make revisions based on site conditions and client requirements.
Prepare client presentations, mood boards and material selections.
Maintain project drawings and revisions systematically.
Coordinate with the engineering/fabrication team for customized furniture, counters, partitions and other fabricated items.
Software skills
Essential:
AutoCAD, SketchUp ,Enscape
Advantage:
SolidWorks
3D rendering
Knowledge of commercial kitchen layouts
Knowledge of MEP coordination
