Role: Chef / Bakery Chef

Location: Zessa Kitchen, Mumbai Central & Worli

Experience Required: 1–3 years in kitchens, bakeries, or health-food brands (Plant-based experience preferred)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of plant-based breads, gluten-free breads, crackers, and bakery products
• Prepare artisanal breads including sourdough, ragi, millet, and gluten-free products
• Assist in preparation of nut butters, plant-based cheeses, and whole-food products
• Execute recipes with precision to ensure taste, consistency, and quality
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, nutrition, and food safety
• Operate bakery equipment including mixing, proofing, baking, roasting, and packaging
• Collaborate with Head Chef/Manager to meet daily and weekly production targets
• Support new product development and experimentation with plant-based ingredients
• Maintain inventory of bakery ingredients and ensure proper storage
• Ensure timely production and delivery of bakery items

Mandatory Skills

• Knowledge of plant-based and gluten-free baking
• Experience in artisan bread production
• Basic bakery and cooking techniques with strong understanding of measurements
• Knowledge of whole grains, nuts, seeds, and alternative flours
• Attention to detail and consistency in execution
• Team player with creativity and adaptability
• Strong hygiene practices and kitchen safety awareness
