Job Description
Job Responsibilities
The Cook shall be responsible for:
- Preparation and cooking of food as per the requirements of the Department.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation area.
- Proper handling, washing, cutting, cooking and storage of food items.
- Maintaining cleanliness of cooking utensils, kitchen equipment and work areas.
- Ensuring proper use and care of kitchen equipment and materials provided by the Department.
- Following instructions regarding menu, quantity, quality and timing of meals.
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Avoiding unnecessary wastage of food, fuel, water and other departmental resources.
- Reporting shortage of food items, kitchen materials or equipment to the concerned supervisor.
- Performing other cooking-related duties assigned by the authorized officer from time to time.
