Job Description

  • Project Planning & ManagementStudy project contracts, BOQs, technical specifications and scope of work.
  • Prepare project execution plans and detailed project schedules.
  • Define project milestones, manpower requirements and material requirements.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.
  • Monitor project progress against approved timelines.
  • Identify project risks and take corrective actions.


  • Site Execution & CoordinationManage day-to-day execution of HT/LT electrical projects.
  • Supervise installation of transformers, HT/LT panels, cables, cable trays, bus ducts, earthing and substation equipment.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, contractors and technicians.
  • Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress review meetings.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, PMC and electrical authorities.


  • Material & Procurement ManagementPrepare material requirement plans based on project schedules.
  • Coordinate with purchase and stores departments for timely material availability.
  • Monitor material consumption and prevent wastage.
  • Ensure proper material receipt, inspection, storage and issue at site.
  • Track material shortages and procurement delays.
  • Verify material requirements against BOQ and approved specifications.


  • Technical & Quality ManagementReview electrical drawings, SLDs, layouts and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable IS, IEC, CEA and relevant electrical safety requirements.
  • Ensure quality of installation and workmanship.
  • Conduct inspections and coordinate client/consultant inspections.
  • Maintain inspection reports, checklists and quality documentation.
  • Close technical observations and non-conformities.


  • Testing & CommissioningPlan and supervise testing and commissioning of electrical equipment.
  • Coordinate transformer testing, HT/LT panel testing, cable testing, relay testing and earthing measurements.
  • Coordinate with testing engineers and authorised agencies.
  • Ensure completion of pre-commissioning checklists.
  • Arrange necessary approvals and clearances before energisation.
  • Prepare and maintain testing and commissioning reports.


  • Commercial & Financial ManagementMonitor project cost against the approved budget.
  • Control manpower, material, machinery and subcontracting expenses.
  • Verify contractor bills and site measurement records.
  • Identify extra items, deviations and additional scope of work.
  • Prepare and submit variation claims and extra-work statements.
  • Coordinate with the billing/accounts department for RA bills and final bills.
  • Follow up with clients for bill certification and payment release.
  • Monitor project profitability and cash flow.


  • Safety & Statutory ComplianceEnsure compliance with electrical safety rules and site safety procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety inspections.
  • Ensure PPE usage and proper work permits.
  • Monitor safe isolation, LOTO and work-at-height procedures.
  • Ensure statutory inspections and approvals wherever applicable.
  • Report and investigate site incidents and unsafe conditions.


  • Client Coordination & Project ClosureMaintain professional relationships with clients and consultants.
  • Attend project review and coordination meetings.
  • Resolve technical and execution-related issues.
  • Ensure timely completion and handover.
  • Coordinate preparation of as-built drawings, test reports and O&M manuals.
  • Obtain completion certificates and close pending documentation.
  • Ensure final bill submission and outstanding payment follow-up.


  1. Required Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of HT/LT electrical systems.
  2. Transformer installation and commissioning.

  4. HT/LT cable laying, termination and testing.
  5. Substation and switchyard execution.
  6. Earthing and lightning protection systems.

  9. Knowledge of electrical safety and statutory requirements.
