Fire Marshal

🧾 Job Summary:

The Fire Marshal plays a critical role in maintaining fire safety within the facility or site. This position ensures that all fire protection systems are functional, emergency procedures are in place, and staff are trained in fire prevention and evacuation protocols. The ideal candidate should be vigilant, proactive, and have sound knowledge of fire safety standards and local regulations.

🛠 Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular fire safety inspections and risk assessments across the facility/site.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with local fire codes, NFPA standards, and safety policies.
• Supervise the condition and readiness of fire protection systems (fire alarms, extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers).
• Develop, update, and implement fire evacuation plans and emergency response procedures.
• Lead and participate in fire drills and emergency evacuation training sessions.
• Report and document any fire hazards, violations, or incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Coordinate with civil defence/fire departments during inspections and emergency situations.
• Ensure all fire safety equipment is routinely tested, inspected, and maintained.
• Assist in investigations of fire-related incidents and provide detailed reports.
• Train staff and contractors on fire safety awareness and procedures.

🎓 Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma/Degree in Fire & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Certification in Fire Safety / Fire Marshal Training (NEBOSH, NFPA, IOSH, or local civil defence-approved courses).
• 2–5+ years of experience in fire safety or HSE roles.
• Strong understanding of fire detection and suppression systems.
• Knowledge of local fire codes and emergency procedures.
• Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Physically fit and able to respond to on-site emergencies.
