Housekeeping Supervisor

A Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the work of housekeeping staff and ensuring that the cleanliness and hygiene of the premises are maintained. They manage staff, inspect rooms or facilities, and ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards. Key responsibilities include:

• Team Management: Overseeing and directing cleaning staff, scheduling shifts, and ensuring staff compliance with safety and sanitation policies.
• Quality Control: Inspecting work to ensure standards are met and providing training to staff.
• Inventory Management: Maintaining inventory lists, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper stock levels.
• Customer Handling: Addressing complaints and ensuring guests receive all housekeeping services they paid for.
• Compliance & Safety: Adhering to safety and sanitation policies and protocols.
• Reporting: Informing management of equipment or furniture in need of repair or replacement.
• Training: Screening housekeeping applicants and recommending promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
• Inventory Checks: Regularly taking inventory of cleaning supplies and ordering stock as needed.
• Cleaning Duties: Performing various cleaning duties in instances of staff shortages.A Housekeeping Supervisor should have a high school diploma or equivalent, proven experience in housekeeping or hospitality, and knowledge of cleaning techniques and products. They should also possess excellent organizational and team management skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery used in cleaning.
