INTERIOR DESIGNER – EVENT & DÉCOR
Location: Bhandup, Mumbai
Experience: 4–5 Years
Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site

Reporting To: Manager / Director
About the Role
We are looking for a creative, client-facing and execution-oriented Interior Designer to join our Banquet Event & Décor team.
The role is specifically suited for an Interior Designer who has a strong eye for aesthetics and wants to work on weddings, events, celebrations and banquet décor. The candidate will be responsible for understanding client requirements, developing creative event décor concepts, preparing layouts and presentations, handling clients, coordinating with vendors and ensuring successful on-ground execution.
This role combines Interior Design, Event Design, Client Handling, Décor Planning and Execution.
Key Responsibilities
Event & Décor Design
- Conceptualise and develop creative, premium and customised décor concepts for weddings, social events, corporate events and banquet functions.
- Understand client requirements, themes, preferences and budgets and translate them into practical décor concepts.
- Design stages, entrances, backdrops, mandaps, seating layouts, dining areas, photo zones and other event spaces.
- Prepare 2D layouts, elevations, mood boards, design presentations and visual concepts.
- Select suitable materials, finishes, furniture, fabrics, props, lighting and decorative elements according to the concept and budget.
- Stay updated with the latest Indian and international wedding, event and décor trends.
Client Handling & Presentation
- Conduct client meetings to understand their event requirements, preferences, themes and expectations.
- Present décor concepts and explain the proposed design, layout, materials and overall visual direction.
- Incorporate client feedback and prepare design modifications and alternatives.
- Handle client follow-ups from the initial design discussion through final execution.
- Support the team in converting décor enquiries into confirmed décor bookings/orders.
- Ensure quick and professional turnaround of design proposals and client requirements.
Vendor & Execution Coordination
- Coordinate with décor vendors, fabricators, florists, furniture suppliers, lighting teams and other event vendors.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with vendors and assist in rate negotiations.
- Share required design references, drawings, measurements and specifications with vendors.
- Coordinate manpower and material requirements for event setups.
- Supervise on-ground execution and ensure that the final setup matches the approved design.
- Monitor quality, finishing, aesthetics and execution timelines.
- Handle last-minute client changes and on-ground execution challenges professionally.
Requirements
- Experience: 4–5 years of relevant experience in Interior Design, Event Design, Exhibition Design, Hospitality Design or Event Décor.
- Education: Graduate/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Design or a related field.
- Candidates with strong Interior Design experience and an interest in event/wedding décor are encouraged to apply.
- Gender: Any Gender.
- Languages: Good communication skills in Hindi and English are mandatory. Gujarati will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of space planning, layouts, proportions, materials, colours, finishes and aesthetics.
- Excellent creative ability with a strong eye for design and attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of 2D design and presentation tools.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Canva, PowerPoint or similar design/presentation tools will be an advantage.
- Ability to prepare layouts, mood boards, elevations, design presentations and basic drawings.
- Good understanding of BOQs, costing, materials, labour and execution.
- Strong client-handling, presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, fabricators and on-ground execution teams.
- Professional, organised, proactive and highly responsive.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects/events and tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work on weekends and during event setup/execution as required.
Work Schedule
- Employment: Full-Time | On-Site
- Working Days: Monday to Sunday
- Saturday & Sunday: Working days
- Weekly Off: One weekday, as per the work schedule.
- Work Timings: As per business and event requirements. Flexibility may be required during event setup and execution.
