Job Description
Job Profile: Mechanical Design Engineer
- Core Role: Transform ideas and requirements into mechanical designs, ensuring performance, safety, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
- Industries: Automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, industrial machinery, medical devices, and energy sectors.
- Tools Used: CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo), FEA (ANSYS), CFD, PLM systems.
- Key Deliverables: 3D models, engineering drawings, BOMs, prototypes, and validated designs.
Responsibilities
- Conceptual Design: Develop mechanical concepts based on requirements.
- CAD Modeling: Create 2D/3D models and assemblies.
- Analysis & Validation: Perform FEA, CFD, tolerance stack-ups, and thermal analysis.
- Documentation: Prepare technical drawings, BOMs, ECOs, and specifications.
- Prototyping & Testing: Support prototype builds and validate form, fit, and function.
- Collaboration: Work with manufacturing, procurement, quality, and R&D teams.
- Optimization: Apply design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and cost reduction strategies.
