Job Description

  • B.E / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / MBA in Operations/Supply Chain preferred
  • Knowledge of mechanical components, fabrication, machining, hydraulics, sheet metal, steel structures.
  • Vendor negotiation, cost reduction, contract management, Incoterms
  • SAP/Oracle, MS Excel - Advanced, AutoCAD drawing reading is a plus
  • Identify, evaluate and develop new vendors for mechanical items - steel, fabrication, hydraulics, motors, gearboxes, fasteners, bearings
  • Float RFQs, technical discussion with vendors, negotiate best price, quality and delivery terms
  • Issue Purchase Orders, follow up for timely delivery, coordinate with logistics and accounts
  • Prepare cost estimates, BOQ costing, rate analysis for new projects and tenders
  • Coordinate with QC and Engineering team for material specs, drawings, and rejection handling
  • Work with Planning/Store team for material requirement planning, avoid stock-out and excess inventory
  • Ensure on-time procurement for project sites. Handle urgent/site material dispatch
  • Maintain vendor database, rate contracts, comparison sheets, and MIS reports
