You will oversee demand planning activities for your assigned product families in your business unit. You will also lead the demand review process and driving interactions with the cross-functional teams.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Lead the demand management agenda for the category, being the key interface between commercial (sales revenue planning) and supply (replenishment) to identify and evaluate the impact of potential availability issues/commercial changes including gap assessment and risk and opportunity discussions
  • Partner with modelling team for the generation of statistical forecasting
  • Manage, coach and develop a team
  • Review standard consumption versus forecast at the customer and total product levels, liaising with replenishment and sales revenue planning to manage potential availability issues and the impact of under consumption
  • Drive strong linkages with the commercial, customer collaboration, modelling, order fulfilment teams and supply planning including innovation and equity
  • Drive continuous capability building in the demand planning team for planning improvement

OVERALL Purpose

The Demand Planning Lead owns the end-to-end demand planning and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, aligning commercial ambitions with operational capabilities. The role develops a consensus-driven demand plan across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, Manufacturing and Procurement — enabling superior customer service, healthy inventory, improved forecast accuracy and profitable growth. The role also champions digital planning transformation through AI/ML-enabled forecasting and advanced analytics platforms.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Enterprise Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Own the end-to-end demand planning process across all product categories, channels and geographies
  • Develop and maintain accurate statistical demand forecasts using AI/ML platforms, market intelligence and commercial inputs
  • Drive consensus forecasting with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply Planning; continuously improve forecast accuracy, bias and demand variability
  • Analyse demand trends, seasonality, promotional performance and market dynamics; deliver actionable insights for senior leadership

 

2. IBP & S&OP Leadership

  • Lead the monthly IBP cycle: Portfolio Review → Demand Review → Supply Review → Integrated Reconciliation → Management Business Review
  • Facilitate executive alignment between demand, supply and financial commitments; drive risk management and timely decision-making
  • Lead monthly S&OP governance forums; balance commercial opportunities against operational constraints; identify supply risks and mitigation plans
  • Support short-term demand and supply balancing through Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE)

 

3. Portfolio & Innovation Planning

  • Partner with Marketing and Commercial teams to forecast new product launches, seasonal products and promotional campaigns
  • Lead SKU lifecycle planning: phase-ins, phase-outs, rationalization and portfolio optimization
  • Drive innovation forecast accuracy and on-time new product launch readiness

 

4. Supply Chain Performance & Digital Transformation

  • Improve customer service levels while optimizing inventory, working capital and minimizing write-offs, excess and obsolete stock
  • Champion SAP APO, SAP IBP, O9 or equivalent platforms; drive AI/ML forecasting adoption and planning transformation initiatives
  • Collaborate with global/regional teams to enhance planning capability maturity and supply chain agility

 

5. Stakeholder Management & Team Leadership

  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships; influence senior leadership through data-driven recommendations and business insights
  • Present planning assumptions, risks and performance updates to leadership forums
  • Lead, coach and develop the Demand Planning team; build a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

Experience Required

 

  • 10–15 years of progressive Supply Chain Planning experience in FMCG, Consumer Goods or related industries
  • Proven leadership of Demand Planning & IBP for large, complex, multi-category businesses
  • Strong hands-on experience with S&OP, cross-functional planning, and digital planning implementations (SAP IBP/APO, O9 or similar)
  • Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders and driving planning transformation initiatives
  • Track record of building and developing high-performing planning teams

Ideal Candidate Profile

A seasoned planning leader with a proven track record of enterprise demand planning and IBP leadership in large FMCG or consumer products organizations.

Deep expertise in forecasting, S&OP, supply chain analytics and digital planning platforms (SAP IBP, SAP APO, O9), combined with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

A collaborative, transformation-oriented leader who can build capability, drive change and deliver sustainable supply chain performance improvements.
