Job Purpose

The Lead – Core Location passive infra operation & Energy Management drives Vi's national energy strategy, OPEX efficiency agenda, leading regulatory energy reporting, renewables and efficiency project execution, strategic energy initiatives — including power trading and captive power — across the passive network infrastructure and MTX Infra Operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operation Governance & audit of Central locations ( MTx/ VTH) - comprehensive governance, evaluation and examination of entire Core location (MTX/VTH) passive infrastructure including environment, equipment, security measures, and compliance with best operating practices and regulatory standards.
• Participating in Strategic Planning activities in relation to Power and HVAC requirements.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of all regulatory, company, and group energy and sustainability data reports.
• Identify and execute energy efficiency and operational optimisation projects, including solar and wind renewables deployment.
• Lead participation in strategic energy initiatives — DEP, FEM, Trials/POC, Power-Trading, PPA, and Captive Power programmes — across the passive network..
• Lead energy OPEX reduction initiatives, identifying savings opportunities and tracking delivery across circle passive operations.
• Build and maintain energy performance benchmarks, analysing consumption trends to prioritise investment and intervention.
• Coordinate with renewable/others energy vendors, finance, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment on energy targets, reporting timelines, and project execution.

Technical/ Functional Competencies

• Understanding of CORE Passive Infrastructure Operations (like power, cooling systems, HT & LT systems, Transformer, DG, UPS, SMPS, batteries, FAS, FSS, safety & surveillance system).
• Preventive & corrective maintenance management (maintenance scheduling, breakdown rectification within agreed SLA & share corrective action to circle)
• AMC and MS Partner Governance (SOP/SOW, technical assessment, renewal management).
• Regulatory & statutory compliance as per Government regulations.
• Energy management for all CORE location, OPEX savings tracking.
• Infrastructure automation & digitisation (alarm monitoring, report automation).
• MSC VTH modernisation technologies (IBMS, DCIM platforms).
• HSW compliance & safety management at critical infrastructure sites. Renewables and Clean Energy (solar, wind, PPA, captive power frameworks)
• Regulatory Reporting (energy, sustainability, and group reporting frameworks)
• Power Trading and PPA Structuring

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Education Qualification

BE/BTech in Electrical /Mechanical engineering.

Years of working experience

Minimum 15+ years total with at least 6 years in passive infrastructure operations at Core locations covering power, cooling, MEP systems, AMC governance & incident management in a large-scale enterprise or telecom DC environment.
