Job Description

Essential Skills

Core Development

• Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET Framework 4.7.2
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Strong understanding of JSON-based API design and integration
• Excellent knowledge of object-oriented design and development principles
• Experience working with multi-layered enterprise applications
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Database Development

• Strong experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
• Ability to design, develop and optimize:
  • SQL queries
  • Stored procedures
  • Views
  • Database indexes
• Understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization
• Experience working with large or business-critical data sets

Data Access & Application Architecture

• Experience working with custom or proprietary data access layers
• Understanding of data access patterns and application layering
• Experience integrating with internal and third-party systems and services
• Ability to design maintainable and scalable back-end solutions

API & Security

• Strong understanding of:
  • HTTP and HTTPS
  • REST principles
  • API versioning
  • Authentication and authorization concepts
  • Error handling and logging
• Understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles

Engineering Practices

• Experience using source control systems such as Git and Azure DevOps
• Ability to write clean, maintainable and testable code
• Experience conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback
• Experience investigating and resolving production issues
• Ability to contribute to technical design discussions and solution reviews

AI-Assisted Development

• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor or equivalent
• Ability to utilize AI tools to improve development productivity and accelerate delivery
• Experience reviewing, validating and testing AI-generated code
• Understanding of responsible and secure use of AI-assisted development practices
