Job Description
Responsible for issuing, verifying, and recording gate passes to ensure that only authorized materials, equipment, and personnel enter or leave the premises, in line with company security and inventory policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue gate passes for incoming and outgoing materials, tools, equipment, and visitor items.
- Verify documents such as delivery challans, invoices, returnable/non-returnable slips, and approved requisitions before granting a pass.
- Maintain accurate records (manual registers and/or digital systems) of all gate pass transactions.
- Coordinate with security, stores, production, and accounts departments to validate approvals.
- Ensure returnable items are tracked and returned within the stipulated time; escalate overdue items.
- Conduct periodic reconciliation of gate pass records against physical stock and invoices.
- Report discrepancies, unauthorized movements, or security breaches to the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and audit norms.
Skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Excel/Word, ERP systems).
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Integrity and familiarity with security procedures.
