Typical Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for these positions often include: 

• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to execute panel wiring tasks.
• Assembling and installing electrical components (fuses, lights, switches, PLCs, VFDs, etc.) within control panels and enclosures.
• Routing and connecting wires neatly and accurately according to design layouts and safety standards.
• Performing functional tests and troubleshooting electrical issues to ensure proper operation of wired panels before dispatch or installation.
• Collaborating with engineers and team members on design changes and project execution.
• Maintaining documentation and records of repairs, installations, and service information. 

Common Qualifications

Employers typically look for candidates with:

• Education: An ITI, Diploma, or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a relevant trade is often required or preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in industrial control panel wiring, assembly, or related electrical work.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring regulations, safety standards, and the ability to use hand/power tools are essential
