Captain – Job Responsibilities

1. Handle the assigned section and ensure smooth service.
2. Brief the team before every shift.
3. Check table setup, cleanliness, and grooming standards.
4. Welcome guests and ensure proper table service.
5. Take orders accurately and coordinate with the kitchen/bar.
6. Monitor food and beverage quality and presentation.
7. Handle guest complaints professionally and inform the manager when required.
8. Ensure timely clearing and resetting of tables.
9. Guide and train stewards in service standards.
10. Check billing accuracy before presenting the bill.
11. Ensure upselling and suggestive selling.
12. Maintain discipline and teamwork during the shift.
13. Complete opening and closing checklists.
14. Report stock shortages, breakages, and operational issues to the manager.

Steward – Job Responsibilities

1. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of tables and service areas.
2. Set up tables according to restaurant standards.
3. Welcome and assist guests as directed by the Captain.
4. Serve food and beverages properly and promptly.
5. Clear and reset tables efficiently.
6. Maintain cutlery, crockery, glassware, and service equipment.
7. Assist the Captain with guest service and section operations.
8. Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
9. Keep the side station clean and properly stocked.
10. Support opening and closing duties.
11. Handle equipment and restaurant property carefully.
12. Maintain proper grooming, uniform, punctuality, and professional behaviour.
13. Inform the Captain about guest requirements or complaints.
14. Work as a team and follow instructions from seniors.
