Cook / Chef

We are looking for a creative, hygienic and responsible Chef/Café Cook who can manage day-to-day food preparation and maintain consistent taste and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook sandwiches, wraps, burgers, hot dogs, sausages, sides and other café menu items.
• Handle food preparation, plating and presentation according to café standards.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes and preparation methods consistently.
• Maintain excellent food quality, taste and presentation.
• Prepare ingredients and mise en place before service.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen at all times.
• Properly store and label ingredients and monitor freshness.
• Manage kitchen inventory and inform management about low-stock ingredients.
• Minimise food wastage through proper preparation and storage.
• Coordinate with the barista and front-of-house team during busy hours.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
• Assist in developing new café specials and seasonal menu items.

Important for Our Café

Our café follows an onion-free and garlic-free food concept. The chef should be comfortable working with this requirement and maintaining strict separation and hygiene practices where required.

We Are Looking For

• Previous experience in a café, bakery, QSR or casual dining kitchen.
• Good knowledge of sandwiches, wraps, burgers and café-style food.
• Ability to work independently in a small kitchen.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Ability to maintain consistency during busy service.
• Good time management and teamwork.
• Clean, organised and disciplined work habits.
• Creativity and willingness to contribute new food ideas.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with English/Western-style café food.
• Basic knowledge of baking or bakery preparation is a plus.
• Experience with vegetarian and mock-meat preparations is an advantage.
• Ability to manage food costing and portion control is a plus.
