Job Description
Job Summary
The GEM Operator is responsible for managing procurement activities through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal. The role includes creating bids, processing orders, coordinating with vendors and buyers, ensuring compliance with government procurement guidelines, and maintaining procurement records.
Key Responsibilities
Create and manage bids, RA (Reverse Auction), and direct purchase orders on the GeM portal.
Search and identify suitable products and vendors as per requirements.
Prepare and upload quotations, technical specifications, and required documents.
Monitor bid status, order processing, delivery schedules, and payment tracking.
Coordinate with internal departments, government buyers, and suppliers.
Ensure compliance with GeM policies and procurement procedures.
Resolve order-related issues, returns, cancellations, and grievances.
Maintain procurement records, reports, and documentation.
Keep up to date with GeM portal updates, circulars, and policy changes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Commerce, Business Administration, or related fields preferred).
1–3 years of experience in GeM portal operations or government procurement (preferred).
Knowledge of government procurement processes and documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email communication.
Familiarity with tendering, bidding, and reverse auction processes is an advantage.
Skills Required
Hands-on experience with the GeM portal.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Good communication and coordination abilities.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Time management and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Basic understanding of GST, invoicing, and procurement documentation.
