Key Responsibilities

• Cut fabric accurately as per pattern and size specifications, minimising wastage
• Stitch garments (kurtas, dresses, separates, and similar) as per design and construction sheets
• Handle different fabric types, including natural and vegan fibres, with appropriate machine settings and techniques
• Carry out finishing work including hemming, seams, buttonholes, and attachments
• Conduct quality checks at each stage of production, flag stitching defects, uneven seams, sizing mismatches, or fabric flaws before dispatch
• Coordinate with the pattern master and production lead on fit issues or construction queries
• Maintain machines and work area, report any equipment issues promptly
• Meet daily and weekly production targets without compromising on quality
• Keep wastage of fabric and thread to a minimum

Requirements

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience as a tailor in a garment production unit or export house
• Strong hands on skill in cutting and machine stitching (overlock, flatlock, single needle)
• Working knowledge of quality checking standards for finished garments
• Ability to read and follow pattern sheets and size charts
• Attention to detail and consistency across pieces
• Willingness to work with delicate or specialty fabrics and hand block printed material
