Senior Proposal Cum Costing Engineer

We are looking for a senior proposal & costing engineer with strong experience in the industrial automation / electrical automation / engineering industry.

The candidate will be responsible for independently handling project estimation, costing, BOQ/BOM, technical & commercial proposals, vendor quotation analysis, and commercial negotiation support.

• Key Responsibilities: Study RFQs, tenders, customer specifications, drawings, and BOQs.
• Prepare detailed project estimation and costing.
• Prepare BOQ/BOM and calculate material, labour, engineering, testing, installation, and commissioning costs.
• Obtain and analyse vendor quotations.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals.
• Calculate project margins and ensure accurate pricing.
• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Purchase, Projects, and Production teams.
• Support customer and vendor negotiations on technical and commercial matters.
• Handle quotation revisions and customer clarifications.
• Identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.
• Maintain costing databases and vendor price information.
• Guide junior team members in estimation and proposal preparation.

Required Experience: Mandatory: Experience in Industrial Automation / Electrical Automation / Engineering Project Costing.

Knowledge of the following will be preferred:

PLC | HMI | SCADA | VFD | Servo | Control Panels | MCC/PCC | Industrial Automation | Electrical Systems

• Required Skills: Strong knowledge of estimation & costing.
• Excellent MS Excel skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Good vendor quotation analysis and negotiation skills.
• Strong commercial understanding and analytical skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to independently handle multiple RFQs and meet deadlines.
• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
