Accountant

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and process purchase and sales invoices* Enter and maintain purchase, sales, cash receipts and payment transactions* Record and verify bank transactions and bank entries* Maintain customer and supplier ledgers* Handle cash receipts, cash payments and daily cash book entries* Maintain and update stock and inventory records* Perform stock reconciliation between physical stock and system records* Verify purchase quantities, sales quantities and stock movements* Check and reconcile customer/supplier balances* Assist with daily accounts closing and reconciliation* Verify bills, vouchers and supporting documents* Record expenses, payments and other day-to-day accounting transactions* Coordinate with the sales, purchase, warehouse and management teams to resolve discrepancies* Assist the senior accountant with monthly closing, reports and reconciliations* Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records* Ensure accounting and billing entries are accurate and updated on time* Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as required

Requirements

* Experience in billing, accounts or accounting operations* Good knowledge of purchase, sales, cash and bank entries* Basic understanding of inventory and stock reconciliation* Good knowledge of MS Excel* Experience working with accounting/ERP software is preferred* Good numerical and analytical skills* Strong attention to detail* Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced business environment* Good communication and coordination skills

Preferred Experience

Experience in wholesale, distribution, FMCG, retail, trading or inventory-based businesses will be an advantage
