Maintenance Technician

Job Summary Hotel Sidh Vedantha is looking for a skilled and responsible Maintenance Engineer to oversee the hotel's engineering and maintenance operations. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen equipment, and other hotel facilities while maintaining safety standards and minimizing equipment downtime.

• Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day maintenance and engineering operations across the hotel.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, air conditioning, pumps, motors, and other equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance of guest rooms, kitchens, banquet halls, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Attend to maintenance complaints and ensure timely resolution of issues reported by guests and hotel departments.
• Monitor the performance of DG sets, lifts, fire safety systems, water pumps, boilers, and other engineering equipment.
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for equipment servicing, repairs, and technical support.
• Maintain maintenance logs, equipment records, checklists, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure proper functioning of kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, exhaust systems, and other F&B facilities.
• Monitor electricity, water, fuel, and other utility consumption and identify opportunities to reduce operating costs.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety, electrical safety, environmental, and hotel maintenance standards.
• Maintain adequate stocks of engineering tools, spare parts, and maintenance materials.
• Supervise maintenance technicians and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with the Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B, and other departments to minimize operational disruptions.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential breakdowns and take corrective action.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with hotel SOPs and safety procedures.
• Skills & Qualifications Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and general building maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of fire safety systems, DG sets, lifts, pumps, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and perform preventive maintenance.
• Good team management, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of maintenance records, inventory management, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work in shifts and respond to emergency maintenance requirements.
