Job Description
Job Summary
Jal Automation & Systems is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Industrial Automation Systems, Assembly Lines, Material Handling Equipment, and Customized Engineering Solutions. The candidate should be proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with the ability to convert customer requirements into practical and manufacturable machine designs while coordinating with production, procurement, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems for Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and industrial automation projects.
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, assembly drawings, part drawings, and fabrication drawings.
- Develop manufacturing documentation including Bill of Materials (BOM) and component specifications.
- Perform machine layout planning and design reviews.
- Design sheet metal, fabricated structures, machined components, and welded assemblies.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and easy to assemble.
- Coordinate with Production, Assembly, Procurement, Quality, and Electrical Design teams during project execution.
- Provide technical support during machine assembly, commissioning, and customer trials.
- Implement engineering changes and maintain revision control of drawings.
- Participate in design improvements, standardization, and value engineering initiatives.
- Maintain design documentation according to company procedures.
