Department: Tool Room / Manufacturing
Location: Pune, Maharashtra
Experience: 5–10 Years
Education: Diploma / B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Tool & Die Making
Industry: Injection Moulding / Automotive / Engineering / Polymer / Precision Manufacturing
Reporting To: Head – Manufacturing / Tool Room Head
Job RoleWe are looking for an experienced Tool Engineer to manage injection moulds and production tooling, including new mould development, maintenance, trials, troubleshooting and tool improvement.
- Key ResponsibilitiesHandle injection mould development, maintenance and modification.
- Plan and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) of moulds and tools.
- Troubleshoot mould-related issues such as flash, short shot, warpage, sink marks, ejection and dimensional problems.
- Support new mould trials and tool corrections.
- Monitor tool life, tool availability and breakdowns.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Design teams.
- Coordinate with external tool makers/vendors for new tool development and repairs.
- Support insert moulding / over-moulding and precision component tooling.
- Ensure tooling meets drawing, dimensional and production requirements.
- Drive tool life improvement, rejection reduction, downtime reduction and cost saving.
- Maintain tool history, PM, breakdown and modification records.
- Required SkillsStrong knowledge of Injection Moulds & Tool Room activities.
- Hands-on experience in mould maintenance, troubleshooting and tool modification.
- Knowledge of CNC, EDM, Wire EDM, Grinding and fitting.
- Good understanding of Engineering Drawing & GD&T.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM and mould design will be an advantage.
- Good problem-solving, analytical and vendor coordination skills.
- Strong shop-floor orientation and ability to work under production pressure.
Preferred ExperienceCandidates from Automotive Components, Engineering Plastics, Injection Moulding, Magnetic Components, Insert Moulding or Precision Manufacturing industries will be preferred.
