BARISTA – JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Barista

Department: Food & Beverage / Café Operations

Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Assistant Restaurant Manager

Location: daWholesum Resto-Café- FC Road

Job PurposeTo prepare and serve high-quality coffee, beverages and smoothies while maintaining excellent customer service, hygiene and café standards.

• Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare espresso, cappuccino, latte, americano and other coffee beverages as per SOP.
• Prepare mocktails, smoothies, juices and other beverages as per recipe standards.
• Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, blenders and other beverage equipment.
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation and portion size.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bar/counter and equipment.
• Check beverage stock and inform the manager about shortages.
• Follow FIFO and proper storage procedures.
• Handle customer orders professionally and provide excellent service.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and service team for smooth order execution.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and company SOPs.
• Minimise wastage and maintain proper portion control.
• Handle opening and closing duties of the beverage station.
• Support upselling of beverages and café products.
• Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience as a Barista preferred.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation and basic beverage operations.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant/café environment.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene and food safety.
• Positive attitude, grooming and professional behaviour.
• Ability to work in shifts, weekends and holidays.
