Job Title: BESS + Solar Interface Expert - Office Based

Job Description: This role focuses on providing expertise for technical requirements and integration optimization regarding the integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with solar PV systems, in both greenfield and brownfield hybridizations. The role involves technical advisory, design review and operational support to ensure adequate project delivery in what concerns the solar and BESS interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Advisory:
• Provide technical advisory regarding best practices for integrating BESS with solar PV installations.
• Understanding of possible BESS coupling configurations with solar PV in what concerns alternatives for DC and AC coupling
• Evaluate the interface of Solar PV and BESS hybrid installations in what concerns the Power Conversion System (PCS), control architecture and required monitoring and communications.
• Advise on trade-off between technological options focusing on a seamless integration for optimal performance and reliability.
• Design Review:
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of electrical designs, control architectures and communication networks of the integration part of BESS with solar PV installations.
• Review simulations and third-party analyses of hybrid system behavior under various scenarios and grid conditions, to verify compliance with codes and performance.
• Identification of design risks regarding safety and performance and advise on mitigation/corrective measures.
• Project Support:
• Provide technical support during project implementation, addressing any integration challenges.

• • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.

• Collaborate with project teams to ensure technical requirements are met.
• Client Interaction:
• Advise clients on the best practices and technologies for integrating BESS with solar systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients for proper understanding of requirements and expectations.
• Translate technical details into actionable strategies for clients.

• • Address client concerns and provide timely solutions to technical issues.

• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay informed about the latest industry trends and concepts for BESS and solar integration, coupling configurations and interface architectures.
• Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance technical skills.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and technical guidelines.
