Job Description

1) Create CNC programs for turning centers.

2) Select optimal cutting tools, workholding fixtures, speeds, and feeds.

3) Set up machines, prove out new programs, and manually adjust G-code.

4) Machine initial prototypes and short-run production batches to tight tolerances.

5) Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback to design engineers.

6) Troubleshoot complex machining issues (tool wear, vibration, chatter).

7) Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

8) Train production setup machinists and operators for a smooth handover.

9) Collaborate with Quality Control on First Article Inspections (FAI).

10) Experience designing custom jigs, fixtures, and soft jaws.

11) Strong ability to read, write, and edit G-code and M-code at the control panel.
