Data Center Technician Manager

 Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, and/or 5+ years of equivalent relevant work experience.
• 3+ years of people leadership, team lead, project leadership, coaching, mentoring, supervisory, or management experience.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with reasonable accommodations available consistent with applicable law.

Background Check Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. While not required, we also look for the following

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field and/or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years’ experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• 3+ years’ experience working in a production, mission-critical 24x7x365 data center environment.
• Applicable certifications are beneficial but not required, including Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), CompTIA certifications, Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Microsoft certifications, or comparable industry credentials
• 2+ years' experience leading a diverse technical or information technology workforce of up to 10 employees.

 Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ownership of service quality, operational excellence, and customer experience while maintaining high standards across data center operations
• Leads and enables the team to achieve data center service quality and compliance goals.
• Provides guidance, coaching, and support to help the team maintain compliance with Data Center Services policies, procedures, deadlines, and service-change requirements.
• Ensures technicians are trained on procedures for installation, deployment, replacement, and post-execution quality check processes.
• Verifies post-execution quality checks have been completed appropriately and takes corrective action as needed.
• Escalates issues through appropriate channels and follows up on resolution, sharing knowledge with appropriate teams.
• Reviews process changes, assesses impact on service delivery, and communicates relevant updates to stakeholders across teams and functions.
• Leads and enables the team to deliver high-quality, compliant services that support Microsoft's cloud infrastructure and customer experience.
• Completes required safety training, conducts daily safety briefings, and participates in on-site safety committees.
• Ensures technicians and vendor personnel follow established safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment, equipment handling, lifting practices, electrical safety, and ladder or rolling stair procedures.
• Promote a culture of safety and empower technicians to take action, speak up, and report safety concerns and/or incidents.
• Has pride and a sense of accountability for the service quality, completeness, and resulting customer experience, displaying accountability and ownership of the data center facilities.
