Job Description

Job Title:   Principal Specialist – Offer Support 

Employment type: KC Role, Demag Distribution India.

KPI:  

1. Punctuality 

1. Timely release of offer data. 
2. Compliance with agreed offer turnaround time. 
3. Timely response to Sales and distributor requirements. 

2. Accuracy 

1. Accuracy of technical offer data. 
2. Compliance with customer requirements/RFE. 
3. Accuracy of product selection, sizing and BOM.

1. Effective data maintenance. 
2. Development of technically and commercially optimized solutions. 
3. Effective support to Sales and distributors. 
4. Contribution to continuous improvement initiatives. 

4. Sales & Distributor Support 

1. Response time, technical support, customer meetings and successful resolution of queries 
2. Process improvements, standardization, product training 
3. Commercial Optimization & Profitability 
4. Improvement in margins 
5. Optimized technical solutions, cost-effective component selection

Role and Responsibility: 

 Customer Requirement & Technical Solution 

1. Understand the customer’s requirements, application and ultimate objective. 
2. Recommend the most appropriate, feasible, simple and economical solution. 
3. Provide alternative solutions wherever required. 
4. Ensure the proposed solution complies with applicable technical standards and organizational capabilities. 
5. Prepare detailed technical solutions covering the complete scope of supply. 
6. Support branches/distributors by providing checklists and identifying the required technical inputs. 

Offer Engineering & Commercial Support 

1. Prepare and release accurate offer data within the agreed timeline. 
2. Provide technical and commercial inputs for supply, transportation and service. 
3. Support commercial optimization to improve project profitability and competitiveness. 
4. Coordinate with the second-level Offer Support team for non-standard and complex enquiries. 
5. Ensure timely submission of offers to the Demag Sales Front Line. 
6. Handle spare-parts offering activities. 

Cross-Functional Coordination 

1. Coordinate with Engineering for high-value and customized solutions. 
2. Participate in technical discussions with Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing teams. 
3. Accompany Sales/branches during customer interactions whenever technical support is required. 

SAP, BOM & Order Support 

1. Create and update Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP for non-standard projects. 

2. Ensure BOM data is accurate and released within the required timeframe. 

3. Review customer POs for technical and commercial requirements. 

4. Participate in Project Kick-Off Meetings (KOMs). 

5. Support order execution and resolve technical/offer-related issues during project execution. 

Process & Continuous Improvement 

1. Monitor and ensure adherence to defined SOPs and offering processes. 
2. Identify gaps in the offer process and implement improvement actions. 
3. Develop improvement plans to increase offer accuracy, efficiency and profitability. 
4. Maintain relevant offer data and support data-driven decision making. 
5. Contribute to standardization of technical solutions, checklists and offering practices. 

Training & Knowledge Development 

1. Conduct product and application training for Demag Sales Front-Line teams. 
2. Conduct product training for Distributor Front-Line teams. 
3. Share technical knowledge, product updates and application learnings with internal stakeholders. 
4. Support development of technical documentation, guidelines and training material. 

 

Qualifications

Education Required:  BE Electrical/ Mechanical

Professional Experience Required (Max – Min.): 7-10 years 

Gender: Male /Female

Competencies and Skills Required: 

Technical Competencies 

The candidate should have: 

1. Strong knowledge of EOT and industrial crane applications. 
2. Good knowledge of crane standards such as IS 3177, IS 4137, CMAA and FEM. 
3. Experience in Hot Metal Handling Crane design/application. 
4. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical component selection and sizing. 
5. Understanding of crane duty classification and application requirements. 
6. Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and customer requirements. 
7. Knowledge of cranes, their components and application. 
8. Understanding of techno-commercial offer preparation. 
9. Experience in handling customized and non-standard crane requirements. 

Software & Digital Skills 

1. SAP – BOM creation/update and related activities. 
2. Efecte – service/process-related system activities. 
3. MS Excel – data analysis, calculations and data management. 
4. MS Office / PowerPoint – technical presentations and documentation. 
5. Ability to work with engineering/configuration and digital offering tools.

Additional Information

Work Environment (Hybrid): Office Primarily (Pune) and based on need may travel to distributor & customers location.
