Traffic Officer / Transport Operations Executive

Location: Pune, Maharashtra

JOB SUMMARY

HGT Logistics is looking for a proactive and result-oriented Traffic Officer to manage daily transportation operations, vehicle placement and fleet coordination across India.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Arrange pickups, open trucks, container trucks and flatbed trailers as per customer requirements.

2. Develop and maintain a network of transporters and vehicle owners.

3. Negotiate competitive freight rates while maintaining profitability.

4. Coordinate vehicle placement, loading schedules, dispatch and delivery tracking.

5. Coordinate with customers, logistics managers and dispatch teams.

6. Monitor vehicle movements and ensure timely reporting and delivery.

7. Maintain vehicle placement records, freight details, trip sheets and transporter payment information.

8. Resolve operational challenges, including delays and vehicle breakdowns.

9. Identify new transporters and support network expansion.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate or equivalent qualification preferred.

• 2–5 years of experience in transport operations, truck placement or logistics.

• Good knowledge of Pune transport market and Indian commercial vehicles.

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

• Knowledge of Excel, WhatsApp and transport documentation.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Experience with open trucks and commercial vehicles is an advantage.
