1. Job SummaryThe Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, inspecting, and troubleshooting machinery, equipment, and tools used in the manufacturing process. The role involves ensuring smooth production operations, maintaining product quality, following workplace safety procedures, and minimising equipment downtime.

• 2. Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesA. Machine Operation and ProductionOperate manufacturing machines and equipment according to work instructions.
• Assist in machine setup, adjustment, and changeover.
• Monitor machine performance during production.
• Meet daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.
• Identify abnormalities in machine operation and report them to the supervisor.
• B. Maintenance and TroubleshootingPerform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of machines.
• Identify mechanical, electrical, or operational faults within the technician’s area of competence.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and restoring operations.
• Maintain tools, instruments, and equipment in proper working condition.
• Report major repairs and maintenance requirements to the concerned supervisor.
• C. Quality ControlInspect finished products and components as per prescribed quality standards.
• Use measuring instruments and testing equipment as required.
• Identify and report defective materials, products, or process deviations.
• Maintain proper records of inspection and production activities.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality-control instructions.
• D. Safety and HousekeepingFollow company safety rules and applicable factory safety procedures.
• Use the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep the workstation, machinery, and tools clean and organised.
• Report unsafe conditions, equipment damage, and workplace incidents immediately.
• Never bypass machine guards or operate equipment without proper authorisation.
• Follow lockout/tagout or other isolation procedures where applicable and authorised.
• E. Documentation and ReportingMaintain machine operation, production, inspection, and maintenance records.
• Record machine downtime, breakdowns, and corrective actions.
• Report daily work progress to the immediate supervisor.
• Assist in stock verification of tools, consumables, and spare parts.
• Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, and stores departments as required.
• 3. Educational QualificationsITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a relevant technical trade.
• Relevant technical certification or equivalent practical experience may be considered depending on the position.
• 4. ExperienceFreshers may apply if they have relevant technical qualifications and practical aptitude.
• Experience in manufacturing, machine operation, equipment maintenance, or industrial production is preferred.
• 5. Required SkillsBasic technical and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to operate and inspect industrial machinery.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and quality standards.
• Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, or work instructions where required.
• Basic documentation and reporting skills.
• Teamwork, discipline, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• 6. Working ConditionsWork at the company’s manufacturing facility in Pithoriya, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
• Work in shifts, if required by production schedules and applicable law.
• Wear prescribed safety equipment and comply with factory rules.
• Perform standing, movement, and equipment-related tasks as required by the role, subject to applicable safety and health requirements.
• 7. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Machine uptime and reduction in avoidable downtime.
• Production output against assigned targets.
• Product quality and reduction in defects.
• Timely completion of preventive maintenance tasks.
• Compliance with safety procedures and SOPs.
• Accuracy of production and maintenance records.
• Workplace cleanliness and proper handling of tools and equipment.
• 8. Authority and AccountabilityResponsible for the safe and correct operation of assigned equipment.
• Accountable for the quality of assigned work and the proper use of company tools.
• Must report breakdowns, defects, hazards, and deviations promptly.
• Must not carry out specialised electrical, mechanical, or other hazardous work beyond their training and authorisation.
• 9. General ResponsibilitiesFollow company policies, attendance rules, and lawful instructions from supervisors.
• Protect company property, equipment, technical information, and confidential data.
• Cooperate with colleagues and other departments to achieve production objectives.
• Perform other relevant technical duties assigned by the reporting manager, within the employee’s training and competence.
