Counter Sales Executive

1. Job Purpose

To attend to customers, understand their requirements, recommend suitable beauty products, cosmetics and imitation jewellery, achieve sales targets, maintain attractive product displays and ensure accurate billing and stock handling.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Customer Handling & Sales

- Greet customers politely and understand their needs and budget.

- Explain product features, quality, prices, colours, designs and available offers.

- Recommend suitable products in gifts, cosmetics, bangles, earrings, necklaces, hair accessories and other fancy items.

- Encourage additional purchases through cross-selling and upselling.

- Convert walk-in customers into buyers and provide a positive shopping experience.

- Handle customer queries, complaints and exchange requests professionally.

B. Product Display & Store Maintenance

- Keep counters, shelves and display racks clean and organised.

- Arrange products category-wise and ensure proper price tags.

- Highlight new arrivals, best-selling products and promotional items.

- Check expiry dates and packaging conditions of cosmetics.

- Report damaged, defective or missing products to the owner.

C. Billing & Cash Handling

- Prepare accurate customer bills using the billing system.

- Accept cash, UPI, cards and other authorised payment methods.

- Verify payment confirmation before handing over products.

- Handle cash responsibly and reconcile the counter cash as per shop policy.

- Issue receipts and follow the approved discount policy.

D. Stock Management

- Check stock availability and inform the owner about low-stock products.

- Assist with receiving, counting, tagging and arranging new stock.

- Maintain accurate records of sales, returns, exchanges and damaged items.

- Ensure that products are handed over only after proper billing.

- Follow store procedures to prevent theft, loss and stock mismatch.

E. Daily Shop Operations

- Arrive on time and maintain discipline and personal grooming.

- Follow opening and closing procedures.

- Keep shopping bags, packaging material and other supplies ready.

- Inform the owner about customer preferences, product demands and competitor offers.

- Maintain polite behaviour with customers and colleagues.
