JOB DESCRIPTION — INTERIOR DESIGNER
Position: Interior Designer
Department: Design & Project Development
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location Asansol / Durgapur/ Raniganj
Experience: 0–1 Years / Experienced Candidates
Reports To: Founder / Design Head
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented and responsible Interior Designer to join SBR Interio.
The candidate will be responsible for developing interior concepts, preparing drawings and 3D visualizations, selecting materials, understanding client requirements and coordinating with the execution team to ensure that the approved design is properly implemented at site.
The ideal candidate should have both creative design ability and practical knowledge of interior execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Design Development
* Understand client requirements, lifestyle, preferences and budget.
* Develop interior concepts and design proposals.
* Prepare mood boards, material palettes and design presentations.
* Develop furniture layouts and space planning.
* Design residential and commercial interior spaces.
* Ensure designs are functional, aesthetically balanced and practical to execute.
2. Drawings & Documentation
* Prepare detailed 2D drawings and working drawings.
* Prepare furniture, ceiling, flooring, electrical and other relevant drawings.
* Prepare detailed elevations and sections wherever required.
* Coordinate drawings with site requirements.
* Maintain updated drawing sets and revisions.
3. 3D Visualization
* Develop 3D models and realistic renders.
* Present design concepts clearly to clients.
* Make design revisions based on client feedback.
* Ensure 3D designs accurately represent the final execution intent.
Preferred Software Knowledge:
AutoCAD • SketchUp • V-Ray / Enscape • Photoshop • MS Excel
4. Material & Design Selection
* Select suitable materials, finishes, colours, textures and furniture.
* Prepare material boards and specifications.
* Understand plywood, laminates, veneers, hardware, glass, tiles, lighting, paint, fabrics and other interior materials.
* Coordinate with vendors for material samples and product information.
* Select materials according to the approved project budget.
5. Client Coordination
* Attend client meetings and understand requirements.
* Present design concepts professionally.
* Explain design decisions, materials and finishes.
* Record client feedback and incorporate approved changes.
* Maintain professional communication throughout the design process.
6. Site Coordination
* Visit project sites regularly when required.
* Coordinate with site supervisors, contractors and vendors.
* Explain drawings and design details to the execution team.
* Check whether site execution matches the approved design.
* Identify design-related site issues and provide practical solutions.
* Conduct site measurements and verify dimensions when required.
7. Project Coordination
* Coordinate with the estimation, procurement and execution teams.
* Ensure approved designs are communicated before execution.
* Coordinate design changes and revisions.
* Maintain project-wise design documentation.
* Support the team in achieving project deadlines.
REQUIRED SKILLS
* Strong understanding of space planning and interior design.
* Good knowledge of furniture design and detailing.
* Understanding of interior materials and construction methods.
* Ability to read and prepare technical drawings.
* Good 3D modelling and rendering skills.
* Good visualisation and presentation skills.
* Basic understanding of BOQ and project costing.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Good communication and client-handling skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
QUALIFICATION
Preferred:
* Diploma / Degree in Interior Design,
* Freshers with strong portfolios may also apply.
EXPERIENCE
Interior Designer: 2 Years
Experience in residential interiors, turnkey projects or luxury interiors will be an advantage.
