Assistant Manager – Operations & Business Development | TSR Oil, Salem

TSR Oil, established in 1986, is looking for someone who wants to learn the business from the ground up and grow into running it. This is a long-term succession-track opportunity, not a routine desk job.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn and manage groundnut procurement, quality assessment, pressing, filtering, packing and dispatch.
• Handle daily stock closing, purchase orders and sales orders.
• Support attendance, welfare and day-to-day coordination of the mill team.
• Build strong working relationships with the entire team across production, office and packing.
• Take ownership of production planning and procurement as you grow into the role.
• Manage supplier and trader relationships.
• Identify and build one growth area such as a new district, online sales or the cattle-feed business.
• Track and produce monthly business numbers.
• Progress towards complete operational and business responsibility over the coming years.

What We’re Looking For:

• Age: 21–35 years
• Tamil is essential; Hindi is an advantage.
• 0–4 years preferred; freshers and experienced candidates are welcome.
• Background in FMCG/consumer sales, banking/NBFC, agri-input/agri-trading, poultry/cattle feed, small manufacturing, trading or family business is relevant.
• Strong commercial thinking, initiative, curiosity and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable working on a factory floor — hot, dusty, noisy and with rotational shifts.
• Most importantly, you should genuinely intend to settle in Salem permanently.

Not Required:

• Edible oil experience
• MBA or specific degree
• Accounting qualification
• Fluent English
• Prior team-management experience
