Electrical Maintenance

1. Job Purpose

To identify electrical faults, carry out repairs and perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant electrical equipment and utility systems, ensuring safe, reliable and uninterrupted operations.

2. Key Responsibilities

1. Identify, troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults in plant equipment and utility systems.
2. Carry out electrical maintenance of air compressors, DG sets (generators), motors, pumps and other electrical equipment.
3. Inspect, repair and maintain main power distribution panels, MCC panels, electrical control panels, MCBs, MCCBs, contactors and relays.
4. Check and maintain electrical wiring, cables, connections and power distribution systems.
5. Inspect and maintain earthing systems, including earth continuity and periodic earth resistance testing.
6. Perform routine preventive maintenance and attend electrical breakdowns promptly.
7. Identify electrical overloads, loose connections, overheating and other potential electrical hazards.
8. Carry out routine inspection and maintenance of electrical safety devices and protection systems.
9. Coordinate with authorized service agencies for major electrical repairs and specialized maintenance.
10. Maintain basic records of electrical inspections, breakdowns, repairs and preventive maintenance.
11. Follow electrical safety procedures, including isolation, lockout/tagout and hazardous-area safety requirements.
